DOG TAILS
One thing we frequently discover is that just about everyone that owns a pet has a story to tell - some are happy, some hilarious and some that will tear at your heart-strings.

At the end of the day I think that one thing we will all admit to is that pets are such a valuable part of our lives, irrespective of our age!

Here we share just some of those stories -

King was our resident 'Calendar Boy', the runt of the litter!  (you'd never guess) and the official taste tester for Todd's Tasty Treats.  He regularly helped count the biscuits and cookies as they were moved from the cooling rack to the storage containers, eager to find the one that got away!!  He always looked forward to getting the loose sultanas that fell away from the Health Muffins after baking had finished.  Ah, it's always the little things that reduce us to tears.

I'm sorry to say that we have experienced one of the saddest days of our lives recently.

On 28th November we had to put our beloved staffy, King, to sleep.

King was recently diagnosed with a heart condition and had responded well to medication.  Unfortunately he suffered a mild heart attack which took its toll and we had to make the heart-breaking decision to put him to sleep before his condition got to the stage that it was unbearable, for him and us.

In retrospect it's a decision that we had to do, but boy, not one that we want to repeat in a hurry.  It was like losing a member of the family, and indeed it was, he was our adopted son.

Rest in Peace Boof

I

On a happier note, I visited the Albury Pound recently and found this little treasure.  After a couple of months without our old mate King we were ready to take on another.

After the obligatory week we were able to call this little one our own and named her Mia, which apparently means 'mine'.  How appropriate!

Mia has settled in so well.  She and Todd hit it off right from the start.  Within a couple of hours of being with us her whole body language changed, her tail was no longer hanging down between her legs, it actually wagged.

Since that day the welcome we get when we come home can't be put into words.

I'm glad we adopted our little 'Pound Puppy'.
